If you are assigned to manage a fleet of vehicles, then it is important for you to keep track of the exact location of the fleet, meet deadlines and keep promises. A real-time GPS vehicle tracker provides instant speed and location data and improves the efficiency and safety of those vehicles. You can keep tabs on the vehicles and their drivers, and ensure that your assets reach the customers on time without any delay. It also helps you in reducing fuel waste, improving maintenance practices and customer service. This is what TK319-H, a vehicle GPS tracking device brought to you by Diweitrack for you exactly mean.
The TK319-H vehicle tracker is a self-contained, integrated commercial grade vehicle tracking device that uses GPS (uBlox IC) satellite location in combination with UMTS/HSPA module of uBlox’s UMTS/HSPA to report that location. The UMTS/HSPA module is used to provide efficient and cost-effective high-speed mobile connectivity than any other modules.
The TK319-H vehicle tracker is optimized for reliability, cost, and size that is targeted at expandable and truck, cargo or electric motor oriented IOT applications, etc. This real-time GPS vehicle tracker is also targeted at the property tracking market.
Advanced Data Reporting Capabilities
The TK319-H vehicle tracker consists of two piece of plastic enclosure which is waterproof IP65 for reliability, durability and low-cost assembly. The GPS patch and UMTS/HSPA antenna are placed internal to the device. The tracker itself can initiate data reporting through UMTS/HSPA’s SMS, TCP/IP or UDP pathways or over a physical UART connection. Network provisioning is done using SIM technology for reliability and cost saving. The TK319-H can be provisioned for TCP/IP, UDP and SMS data services for application command and data transactions within the 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz GSM bands and 800,850,900,1900 and 2100MHz UMTS/HSPA bands.
A hardware TK319-H endpoint reset and reboot is initiated for added safeguard against network connection loss. This can be done by simply calling the provisioned phone number and allowing it to ring three times.
Over The Air (OTA) application firmware updates are supported through at TFTP connection to a server. The high-level application image can be updated by using one specialized SMS or UART command.
Product Features
Physically disguised to appear to be a nondescript part of the cabling system, TK319-H is a small black box equipped with unremarkable features. To verify the correct installation and initial operation, two LED status indicators are provided. Once the installation is done and verified, a unique power management feature allows these LEDs to be extinguished. This special feature reduces power and further conceals the tracking device from unauthorized users and untrained parties wishing to defeat its operation.
Installation
The TK319-H vehicle tracking device must be installed in a vehicle in such a way it has an unobstructed view of the sky during normal operation. If needed, use a double sided foam tape to secure the surface not facing the sky.
In addition to the above features, TK319-H comes with the provision to add a motion detector to the main board that can be used to wake the device from a very low power state.
Software Architecture
The TK319-H uses an external applications processor to communicate with uBlox UMTS/HSPA module by UART. It acts as a 3G modem and responds to AT commands issued to it from either a physical UART port connection or to AT commands issued to it through an SMS, TCP/IP or UDP/IP connection. TK319-H “reads” all of its text messages and tries to interpret each message as an AT command. The text messages are received by TK319-H through any CSD SMS connection.
Key Functions
TK319-H acts like a 3G modem and responds to AT commands issued to it from either aphysical UART port connection or to AT commands issued to it through an SMS, TCP/IPor UDP/IP connection. With regard to text messages, TK319-H “reads” all of its own text messages and tries to interpret each message as an AT command. SMS text may be sent to a TK319-H through any CSD SMS connection.
